The Maui County Fair is one of those events on the island that practically everyone attends. Maui has a population of about 155,000, and 100,000 people go to the fair each year. Visitors attend as well as locals, and it’s a great place to people watch, load up on some ono food, lose it on one of the rides, or just visit with friends. At the fair, we get to see all those people who live WAY over on the other side of the island.
Last year I chaired the Hobbies and Crafts section of the fair. It was a fun way to meet some amazing people, and it gave me a whole new perspective on this event. There is so much work that goes into making the fair a great time for our community. I was honored to play a small pat in bringing smiles to so many faces.
The photos are courtesy of my two daughters. Emma, the older of the two had the pleasure of cruising the fair with Ray Maines while he did the official photography for the event. Nothing like getting pointers from a seasoned pro. Mahalo Ray, Emma, and Morgan!
