Maui A to Z

Maui A to Z: Restaurants

Maui A to Z on Plumeria

We are spoiled.  Maui has some of the world’s best chefs and chefs in training.  It’s hard to throw a rock and not hit a great place to eat.  Among our favorites are, in no particular order:

Fat Daddy’s (already mentioned on the letter F)

Gannon’s

Coconut’s Fish Cafe

Roy’s

Humuhumunukunukuapua’a

Teddy’s Bigger Burger

Gerard’s

Bridgit and Bernard’s

The list could go on forever, but these are our go-to restaurants depending on occasion and budget.

However, the greatest gastronomic night of the whole year, is the night when all the best chefs on the island come together for the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival.  Just look at all the promise lined up in these empty glasses!

Table setting with wine glasses

Every October, we sit right off the beach on the west side of Maui and watch as various chefs prepare incredible dishes for us… right there in front of the sand and waves.

Needless to say, this is one of those nights it’s best to get a room in Kaanapali so you don’t try to drive home after all those wine glasses are dirtied up with pairings for each course.

I’m already dreaming of next October.
